Wine Up in NoDa Gallery Crawl

Date: Friday, August 21, 2004
Location: Wine Up in North Davidson Street Disctrict in Charlotte, NC
Purpose: Gallery Crawl gig
Attendance: About 50 to 70

Thanks to all my ex-coworkers who helped fill up da club! If not for you, I would have been playing to about 10-15 people. I'm glad the Happy Hour brought so many friendly faces to the Funk and Roll Show. I hope seeing me perform didn't mess with your heads too much. I've already had several folks tell me that they couldn't believe the maniac they saw on-stage was the same mild-mannered guy as the one they used to work with...

Yep, we had about 35 ex-Metasys folks who showed up for a reunion. I hated that I was a little too busy to get to speak to everyone...I'll catch up with you again soon.

I added a new spoken word piece to my performance--"Monkeys". It's about how as much as mankind tries to distinguish themselves from the other animals, really we're just a bunch of monkeys. It's from one of my favorite spoken word poets, Ernie Cline.

I'd like to give a special thanks to Allan Kaplan who was nice enough to perform several of his original songs while I mingled. My favorites of his are: "Middle-Class Man" and "Freud and Elvis". Everyone really enjoyed his tunes.

Thanks to everyone who came.

Listen to Brian's music now!
